How I Built This Website

I’m really excited and so happy that I can finally tell the world the journey on making this website come to live.

I won’t went very technical on this, but rather on the memorable event that happens.

The main spotlight for this blog post is how I securing this website for 10 years to come. What I mean by “securing” is that I bought the handaru.dev domain name. I know, it’s not a big deal for some people, but for me it is.

The total cost of that domain is $122 USD which that money I obtained by doing commission worth of $150 USD from client. It might not sound much for some people, but in my country, it could be more than 8 times the salary of a teacher here.

You might be thinking that spending that much money for a domain is not a wise decision. I understand that’s perspective. But the problem I have with commission lately was on payment method. Originally, I use Paypal to receive payment from client. But my account later being wrongfully permanently terminated for no reason before I can receive the money for this commission.

I’ve tried moving on to Payoneer to overcome this problem. But the same thing happened again, my account was wrongfully permanently terminated again. At this time I really am frustated because basically all the methods of receiving payments I have is basically all gone.

Fortunately, I’m working with a really flexible client this time. It’s not just me working on resolving this, but my client also willing to try to pay me in various other platform such as Remitly, Wise, Airtm, etc. Unfortunately, all the other methods we’ve tried never works, it will always be a problem on one side of us.

As last attempt in receiving the payment, I offered my client to buy me this domain for 10 years and a Minecraft license gift code instead of direct money as payment.

I’m thrilled after knowing that my client’s down for this, so here I am right now writing this blog post. You might be wondering, why I ask for a Minecraft license gift code since, of course, I already had one. Well, the answer to that is I’m planning to give it to my best friend for free as a gift.

It’s a really memorable journey, so there is no reason for me not to give back for this blessing. That’s the reason I’m gifting this Minecraft to my best friend. To give back.

Lastly, if I die tomorrow, my message to everyone out there is to keep trying. Because as I always said, perfection won't exist without iteration.
