AI Acquisition Phase

There is something interesting in the AI world. All this time, AI companies like OpenAI for example always been reported to lost billions of dollar every quarter of the year. This point is really important for me to bring up, because even though they are burning through billions of dollar, they don’t make their services more expensive, but rather, they are making them cheaper instead.

For example, Claude Code. Their subscriptions of $20/month might sound too good to be true, and this is the point of this blog. These companies knows very well that they’re losing more and more money every quarter of the year but still making their services very cheap. On the other side, many of their CEO always be saying that "In the next 3-6 months ..." there is will always be something that will get replaced by AI.

I think this is a very clear pattern on the current AI space. They are burning a lot of money to make their services very cheap that it’s become very hard to ignore thus making a lot of people using them. For example, a lot of developers has been using AI more than their own thinking capabilities to write codes and this is the direction those AI companies wants.

They gave away those services for a really cheap prices, then later you would stop thinking for yourself and make AI do these jobs instead. In the future, when everybody can no longer think on their own because their mind becoming more and more dull because of AI usage being greater than using their own independent thinking, these companies will start jacking up their prices as high possible.

When the time comes, people who rely on AI for everything would have no choice other than to pay those hefty subscriptions price set to them. This scenario would have a big impact in the future of humanity if it were to be true, thus I recommend to not use AI for everything. Don’t get me wrong, AI is still an amazing tool, but we still need to be thinking independently to improve our thinking capabilities continuously to prevent such catastrophe from ever happening.
